How to start home care
From the first call to the first visit, in plain steps.
Steps
Call or text
Call (216) 200-8004 or text (216) 200-8220. Tell us who needs help and where they live.
Describe the help
Which daily tasks are hard, which days and times help is needed, and who else is involved.
Talk through next steps
We talk about how care would work and how it can be paid for.
Good to have ready when you call
- A list of the daily tasks that are hard right now
- The days and times help would make the biggest difference
- Insurance or Ohio Medicaid information, if any
- Contact details for the person's doctor or case manager
Paying for care
Families pay privately, through long-term care insurance, or, for people 60 and older who qualify, through Ohio Medicaid's PASSPORT program. Call or text and we will talk it through.
Before you call any agency
Our guide lists five checks: license, background checks, NPI, supervision and backup scheduling.
Talk to us about care
Call or text and tell us what kind of help is needed and when. Please keep health details out of email and text.
